"ELI's programs offer a very strong and biblical reflection that is coupled with practical application that meets the expectations and maturity needs of the participants. The speakers are competent and credible, and have very relevant experiences, while the programs are well integrated with leadership themes. I feel that every leader and pastor should attend, as ELI's programs will definitely stimulate and enlarge their skills, knowledge of their leadership, and better equip them for Kingdom Ministry."

Sex - Helping Christians Do It Right
About 30 participants gathered for a Leadership Clinic at Newton Life Church on April 11 to learn from Dr Clifford and Mrs Joyce Penner who are internationally recognized sexual therapists, educators, and authors. Entitled "Sex - Helping Christians Do It Right", the Penners delved into topics such as Discovering Greater Passion & Intimacy In Your Marriage, Empowering Singles To Manage & Maximize Their God-Given Sexuality, Inviting God Into The Bedroom, as well as issues relating to sex education, addiction, and relationships.
The participants gained many invaluable insights from this workshop. Elaine Chia from Hope Church Singapore shared, "The Penners have offered solid, biblical based values and attitudes to view and live sexually fulfilling lives." Erickson Fabien from SDA Community Church commented, "I now know that I must pay more attention to the sexuality of my kids and help people in my congregation to relate well to their sexuality." Another participant said that a key lesson learnt was to "recognize that sex is a gift from God and we are sexual beings and to be comfortable with open communication and not be judgmental."

That was what 59 pastors and leaders of churches and organizations did in a one-day Eagles Leadership Clinic on January 23, 2008. The speakers were Dr Low Guat Tin, Associate Professor of Policy and Leadership Studies at National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University and Mrs Lim Chye Tin, an educator who has recently retired as Principal of St Andrew's Junior College. The team teaching provided insights from different perspectives. Their sense of humor was also infectious as both drew from their wealth of wisdom and experience in leading people, especially in the field of education.
"Staff development and succession planning is key to sustained growth and renewal," was a takeaway for participant Lynne Wong from Victory Family Center. Another person commented, "I have learnt much about the awareness of mental models from them. This will help me to have trust in my people and develop them." Genin Teo from All Saints Presbyterian Church remarked, "Excellent and outstanding presentation. Sharing from real life experiences and situations was very beneficial." Edwin Wong from Covenant Presbyterian Church concurred, "I am reminded to keep on growing as a leader and to help others in their development. Thanks for the personal sharing and light hearted moments - making the principles so real and down to earth."
Ministering To Our Sexual Generation
Sy Rogers provided redemptive insights into the complex issues of sexual-relational problems within the church. This training has been very helpful to those who struggle with their sexuality, have a loved one who is struggling or want to minister more effectively in this area.

"Having a good relationship between the senior pastor and the chairman of the church board is important. It is a leadership skill to be learned and developed." Ronnie Hoh, Adam Road Presbyterian Centre
